Vashek is a multi-instrumentalist, ritualist and medicine man drawn to nature, simplicity, shamanism and mysticism. He was born in Czech Republic and is shaped by nomadic living; from Amazonian tribes to Himalayan caves and European country roads.

Vashek has been studying and working with sound and plants in ritual throughout the world for almost ten years. His work with the medicines is informed by his time in South America. Vashek learned Rapé tradition with Katukina Varinawa tribe and is now making his own Rapé under the brand Haux. Haux is a small homemade production, guided by indigenous traditions and wisdom of the forest. The work is slowly unfolding itself with deep care and intention, honouring the process, nature and simplicity.

 

Vashek's work with sound is inspired by traditional shamanic styles, nature, his journey through inner outer worlds and medicine ceremonies. He combines voice, throat singing, didgeridoo, flutes, guitar and more with live looping into his unique style ranging from medicine songs to mystical and experimental shamanic sound. He works with open compositions and states of improvisation to give space for unfoldment into the present moment and is inspired to encourage connection with nature, intuition and deeper self through his work.

 

Vashiv is currently based between Koh Phangan and Pai in Thailand.
